Spider-Man swings in at the top of EMEAA charts

The latest GSD charts for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Australia (EMEAA) show that, unsurprisingly, Spider-Man swung to high launch sales across these regions as well.

The week ending September 9 showed two (well, three) new entries in the top 10, with Spider-Man at #1, Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age right behind it at #2, and the combination of Destiny 2 and its Forsaken expansion working as a combined new entry to push its way to #8, though it wasn’t enough to beat last week’s newcomer Two Point Hospital.

That said, new entries from last week PES 2019 (which held #1 for all of a week), Naruto To Boruto: Shinobi Striker, and Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate have all vanished from the top 10. The latter, a Switch-exclusive, has in fact lost so much of its launch surge that it’s no longer represented in the aggregated Top 50 chart, only appearing in the Top 200 breakdown by platform at #82.

The other surprise in the chart is Cities: Skylines, which seems to have enjoyed a preemptive surge on PC ahead of its out-now Switch announcement in last night’s Nintendo Direct. Given that, it might be expected to stick around near the top into the next few weeks as well when the Switch numbers are incorporated.

Here is the combined physical/digital chart for the EMEAA region for the week ending September 9th:

Last Week This Week Title
New Entry 1 Spider-Man
New Entry 2 Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
3 3 Grand Theft Auto V
