Kit Harington comments on the end of Game of Thrones

Game of Thrones star Kit Harington (Jon Snow) is currently making an appearance at the 2018 Toronto Film Festival where he’s promoting his new film, The Death and Life of John F. Donovan. MTV News caught up with Harington and asked him, of course, about the ending of Game of Thrones, but as you might expect, the actor wasn’t very forthcoming. However, he did talk about fan expectations for the ending, and how it won’t please everyone.

“I think a TV series that’s spanned eight, nine years is an incredibly difficult thing to end,” he said. “I think not everyone’s going to be happy, you know, and you can’t please everyone.”

That quote seems to fall in line with what Harington’s co-stars have been saying about the ending of the show. From Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) saying the ending would be surprising, to Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) saying that is unpredictable, one thing seems certain: it’s going to be the most talked about event of 2019.

So what’s next for Harington now that Game of Thrones is ending forever? He’s got a play — True West — opening in London’s West End, in November, and beyond that, perhaps a turn as a young Bruce Wayne in DC’s new Batman film. Yep, it seems that the King in the North could have an outside shot at being the next actor to don the cowl of the Caped Crusader.

According to website Revenge of the Fans, the film is slated to begin filming in 2019 with Matt Reeves directing, and in June of this year, Warner Bros. requested some digital mockups of Harington in a Batman costume. The site goes on to explain that there’s no reason to believe Harington will be offered the role of a young Bruce Wayne, just that there was interest in him.

I, for one, am hoping Harington gets the role, so we can watch the internet meltdown over who plays a better Batman. Obviously, it’s Christian Bale, duh.
