Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe began streaming trailer for its Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown game on Monday. The video highlights the game’s support for virtual reality devices, allowing players to look in directions independent of where their plane is currently heading and track activity across the entirety of the cockpit canopy.
Bandai Namco Entertainment will release the game on January 18, 2019 for PlayStation 4 (with PlayStation VR support) and Xbox One, and February 1, 2019 for PC via Steam. The game was originally slated for 2017, but was delayed to 2018 before this latest delay to 2019.
Namco released the first Ace Combat game in 1992. The last numbered title, Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation, shipped for the Xbox 360 in 2007. Bandai Namco Games released Ace Combat Infinity as the first free-to-play Ace Combat game for the PlayStation 3 in May 2014. The most recent game in the series, Ace Combat: Assault Horizon Legacy Plus, shipped for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan in January 2015 and in February 2015 in North America and Europe.
